The Copenhagen Cafe
Welcome to the Copenhagen Cafe
From December 7 - 18, 2009, the world’s eyes will be on Copenhagen, Denmark for COP15, the United Nations Climate Change Conference. The stakes for this round of global negotiations are as high as they have ever been and much is riding on our country’s participation and leadership. Although it is unlikely that a binding deal will be signed in the next few weeks, these meetings remain a vitally important step toward reaching a meaningful global agreement in 2010.
As a community of environmental and clean technology leaders, we must fully leverage this opportunity to educate and engage as many as we can on the full range of issues related to climate change and how we respond to it. To this end, the San Francisco Carbon Collaborative, in partnership with other regional climate leaders, will be hosting a local hub of activity for climate outreach, education and action - The Copenhagen Cafe at the Green Zebra Environmental Action Center.
It will be a place to gather, to learn, to deliberate, and to act. It will be an open and accessible venue for all levels of environmental interest and commitment. For 14 days in December, we plan to maintain a direct link between the Bay Area and Denmark. We also plan to complement our coverage of the Conference with local press resources and a full slate of related programs for the general public.
